Sydney Morning Herald Review
Style comes with a surprising price tag in fashionable South Yarra, writes Julietta Jameson. Chic can't be taught. You've either got it or you haven't. If you had to qualify it, you might say it is individuality layered over classic references. But above all, it's an expression of self-confidence... read more
The Pool Club Deluxe Room
The Pool Club Deluxe rooms have been fully renovated this year and are now the newest rooms of the Albany. Situated overlooking leafy Millswyn Street, one of South Yarra’s prettiest streets, they are serene and shrouded in wonderful light filtering through the trees outside. Their overhaul took them from 0 – 100 in one giant step and included brand new bathrooms and a funky new fashion meets rock and roll theme. Try one, our guess is that you will request the same room for your second visit.
Located on Melbourne's doorstep
Our chic location is what makes this hotel even more unique. Nestled in South Yarra, one of Melbourne’s most exclusive areas, the hotel is within walking distance of some of Melbourne’s top restaurants. Located on the corner of Toorak Road and a couple of blocks from famous Chapel street (one of Melbourne’s prime shopping areas) we are only 2 km’s away from the city itself. Connected by trams in both directions and on the corner of Toorak Road, Millswyn Street runs between gorgeous Fawkner park and the Royal Botanic Gardens. We are a hop, skip and a jump from the Melbourne Cricket Ground – ok well a 20 minute walk or 10 minute cab ride, close to the Grand Prix circuit (easily audible in Feb), a short tram ride to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV), the Victoria and Prahan Markets, the Rod Laver Tennis Centre and the many of the Overseas Consulates.

Breakfast 7 days a week!
A popular spot for locals as well as in-house guests, breakfast at the Albany is so much more than you would expect. Brioche French Toast, Fluffy Canadian Pancakes & Maple Syrup ‘Foam’ or the full fry up of Free range Eggs with all the trimmings, are just some of the offerings to start your day on the right foot.

Bar Food
Each afternoon from 5:00pm, the Albany offers a bar menu of carefully selected treats that will carry you through to dinner or prepare you before you venture out to explore the city. House-made pate, our own selection of cured meats and imported cheeses, or marinated olives & grissini, are just some of the delights that will be perfectly matched to a glass or two of wine from our extensive cellar. We have also just introduced Cocktail Hour every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night in the Bar from 5.30 to 6.30pm. Each week check the board for your complimentary Cocktail!!
Dinner Thursday, Friday & Saturday Nights!
The traditions of French cuisine provide the framework for Chef Anthony Siketa’s ever-changing menu at The Albany. With borrowings from across Europe, the menu might include black truffle risotto, quail with chestnut veloute or a spicy duck cassoulet. The staff are knowledgeable and relaxed, and Manager Matthew Stipanov will guide you through the ever-changing wine list. Many of which are available by the glass.
